As a pilot project in effect through December 2023, adults may drink alcohol safely and responsibly in designated areas at six outdoor public places in Port Moody:
Kyle Centre Pop-Up Park, 125 Kyle Street (view map)
Pioneer Memorial Park, 275 Knowle Street (view map)
Queens Street Plaza, Queens Street between Clarke Street and Spring Street (view map)
Rocky Point Park, 2800 block Murray Street (view map)
Trasolini Field spectator stands at Town Centre Park, 300 Ioco Road (view map)
The Alcohol in Parks Pilot Project was launched in July 2022, with minor adjustments made in March 2023. Under the Responsible Consumption of Liquor in Public Places Bylaw Number 3392, alcohol may be consumed responsibly by adults in designated areas between 11am and dusk. Drinking is prohibited in the following spaces:
within 10 metres of a playground or spray park, except for the picnic shelter area at Old Orchard Park;
within the Labyrinth Healing Garden at Pioneer Memorial Park; and
on the beach at Old Orchard Park.
