Why do we ask you to register before you provide input?

Registration helps us to: verify that input collected is from Port Moody residents and business owners; minimize the risk of skewed results due to repeat responses from bots or individual participants; and understand who we’re hearing from, and which voices may be missing from the conversation, so we can conduct more targeted outreach and work to reduce barriers to participation. Registration also has benefits for participants. You can: answer our demographic questions once only, instead of every time you fill out a City survey; find out when public engagement summaries (“What we heard” reports) are posted for projects that you provided input into; and stay informed about new projects and opportunities to provide input. Personal information is collected for the City of Port Moody by Bang the Table Pty Ltd. pursuant to Section 26 of the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 165 and is used for the purposes of providing you access to the engagement tools within the website and receiving your feedback on specific projects and issues. By participating in online engagement, you acknowledge that the City may make your screen names (user names), feedback and images publicly available as part of the public consultation process and you are providing consent for the City to make such a disclosure under s.33(c) of the Act. No other personal information will be made visible to the public.
