Rocky Point and Old Orchard Parks Master Plans

We’re drafting a comprehensive update to the existing Rocky Point Park Master Plan (adopted in 2000) and developing a new master plan to guide upgrades for Old Orchard Park. Both plans will provide a framework for decision-making over the next 10 years.

Help shape the future of Rocky Point and Old Orchard parks! Your input will help us ensure these unique outdoor spaces can continue to support our community into the future.

During Phase 1 engagement in July and August 2022, we asked participants how they use Rocky Point and Old Orchard parks today, and what they want the parks to be like in the future. We used that feedback to develop draft design concepts and proposed actions.

During Phase 2 engagement in October and November 2023, we asked for feedback on the draft design concepts: three for Rocky Point Park, and one for Old Orchard Park. We also asked participants to share their thoughts on how we should prioritize potential improvements, as we won’t be able to achieve everything. Thank you to everyone who filled out our community surveys, participated in our online information session (October 25, 2023), or attended our in-person open house (October 26, 2023).

Your input will inform the refinement of draft master plans which will be shared with Council in early 2024. The public will then have a chance to review the draft master plans, ask questions, and offer comments during Phase 3 engagement in spring 2024.

Do you have a question about the master planning process? Post your question and we’ll do our best to respond to you directly or on this page in three business days.

Thank you for your interest in the Old Orchard Park Master Plan project. Please note that some survey questions reference large diagrams – these may be easier to view on a desktop computer rather than a mobile device.

We are currently at the stage in the project where we are evaluating design ideas and alternatives for the park. Your input will help inform the master plan design concept and directions that will guide the park’s development over the next 10 years.

As you work through the questions and consider the ideas, focus on the park as a whole and individual spaces in general. As this is a master plan exercise, we are not yet at the stage where we are designing the specific details of individual spaces. Rather, we are identifying whether the draft design concept addresses Port Moody’s priorities.

It's important to note that other projects (such as the Master Transportation Plan update, Urban Forest Management Strategy, Parkland Strategy, and Trail Network Plan) may influence the park. Check engage.portmoody.ca for information on these studies.

Your input is extremely valuable and we thank you in advance for your time. This survey should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes
